The judge annuls the arrest and prison order that she issued after the failure to appear of Éric CTG at the trial
The judge of the Barcelona prison Beatriz García-Valdecasas has annulled this Thursday the arrest and imprisonment of Éric CT G, 40 years old and a resident of the Barcelona neighborhood of Horta-Guinardó, accused of the dissemination through internet of the image of the victim of ‘La manada’ in Pamplona. The accused did not appear at the trial that was to be held this Wednesday at the Ciutat de la Justícia. The magistrate has annulled her decision after being informed that the accused is admitted to a health center. The hearing will be held soon.
This resident of Horta-Guinardó, a mechanic by profession, is facing a request from the prosecutor for two and a half years in prison for a crime against moral integrity in conjunction with another for revealing secrets. The accusations demand three years in prison. The victim was expected to testify via videoconference.
The prosecution maintains that the accused published the images and data of the victim of the gang rape that occurred in the Sanfermines of 2016 on a web page. In three “posts” on the internet, adds the public ministry, Enric CTG posted reviews of the young woman attacked and photos that had already been published by third parties in other network forums, from different social networks, of the victim herself or of her friends, as well as a scene of multiple rape.

Among the data released by the accused, underlines the prosecution, there was a copy of the DNI, the name and surnames of the woman, her academic training and area of residence, as well as several photographs, some of her and others of one of the moments of the rape she suffered inside a building in the Navarran capital. Her goal, according to the public accusation, was to “mock” her and create “moral unease” in her. Èric CT G, who was identified by the National Police, alleged in his statement before the investigating judge that he limited himself to taking screenshots of data that images of the victim that circulated on the internet and that he used them in May 2017 to replicate, in a chat of smaller dimensions, to an Internet user. The accused admitted, yes, that he does not have Wi-Fi in his house, so he used that of a neighbor.
