The festivities surrounding the largest motorsport spectacle in the Netherlands have opened with a parade and the first TT City Run. Photographer Jaspar Moulijn shot these pictures on the sunny first day of the TT Festival.
The festival opened for the first time with the TT City Run, a running race from the TT Circuit to the center of Assen. More than 2000 participants ran the three distances of 5, 10 and 15 kilometers.
The festival was festively opened with a parade through the center of Assen. The Steamroadsters, an act from the Abacus Theater and acrobats from Youth Circus Bombari, among others, showed their skills.
True to tradition, the TT Fair also opened on the first day of the festival. The fair on Veemarktplein is even bigger this year than before, with an additional extension in Rolderstraat.
