  • Why is the race in Bahrain so special?

The 8 Hours of Bahrain not only marked the end of the season this year, but also the end of an era. It is the last time that an LMP1 car will take part in a WEC round. Alpine will retire from the top category for a year, returning in 2024 with an LMDh. And it’s the final race for the GTE Pro class.

  • Which former Formula 1 drivers are there?

Especially long-established Formula 1 fans will get their money’s worth on Saturday, because numerous former drivers of the premier class will start in Bahrain.

Drivers in the hypercar category include Kamui Kobayashi, Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, Paul di Resta and Jean-Eric Vergne. With Robert Kubica, Sebastien Bourdais and Esteban Gutierrez, three former premier class pilots will also start in the LMP2 class.
