In a direct duel at Ninja Warrior Germany Allstars, a total of 160 ninjas fight for the title, which Kim Marschner was able to secure in the premiere season. On Sunday (8:15 p.m. on RTL, RTL+ and im sport.de ticker) the third preliminary round show can be seen. We look at the duels, the course and the rules.
As with the premiere last year, all five preliminary rounds begin with 16 duels man against man or woman against woman.
- In the second round, the 16 duel winners will compete against each other in eight duels on a different doubles course.
- The eight victorious ninjas then compete in four final duels at the Power Tower. In the end, there are three men and one woman who make it into the final show.
One thing is clear: Only the winners of the duel advance, there are no second chances for those who lose. Anyone who touches the water in the course has to end their run and is eliminated if their opponent makes it further. It does not always have to be buzzed to move into the next round.
However, if you want to hope for extra prize money, you have to finish the course. In each preliminary round show, the fastest first round run will be rewarded with 5,000 euros for the first time – so speed pays off twice in this season. Whoever is at the top of the finals at the end of the show also wins 50,000 euros.
Without Wontorra, but with strong ninjas
There is also a failure in the moderation team: Laura Wontorra is not present in this episode due to illness – Jan Köppen and Frank Buschmann moderate alone and also do all the interviews.
A participant has an interview experience of a special kind Jolina Thormann made in the last regular season: After her exit, she patted her backup field reporter and football legend Thorsten Legat the head – a running gag not only for Buschi and Jan.
In her first “Allstars” participation, the 18-year-old competes against someone twice her age Maria Henneken from Cologne. The signs are pointing to success for Jolina: Papa has also been gripped by ninja fever, they always train together and will start together for the first time in season 7.
Chris Kromer meanwhile, he has a very special talisman with him: a medallion with a photo of his beloved grandmother Lissy, who died at the age of 93 last year after the recording. He also has the medallion with him because Lissy could not be there on the recording day for health reasons. With shared social media videos, Chris’ grandma became a legend in the ninja community. In her honor he has decided to buzz for the first time this year. In the first duel he competes against the 36-year-old Norbert Black at.
New dad and “Captain America” in the course
Just before the records is Philip Hans Became a father and therefore almost stayed at home with his loved ones instead of competing in the duel course. The brother of former Last Man Standing Moritz meets in his first duel Vadim Rimer from Barendorf.
Thomas Opperman has recovered from an injury in time for “Allstars” and is fit for his first duel against “Captain America” Gary Hines from Solingen. Thomas’ wife accompanies him at the edge of the course: “My husband is very ambitious and always wants to be the fastest,” she says. But handball player Gary is a tough opponent: The American was taken to his home country for the 14th season of American Ninja Warrior.
The youngster against the experienced, it is said in the duel between newcomers Luca Fendrich (19) and trampoline athlete Daniel Schmidt (30) from Hamburg. Luca, who was there for the first time in Ninja Season 6, says: “The respect is definitely there.” In advance, he got tips from Daniel via Instagram. Will they take him to the final or will the more experienced win out?
The runner-up from last year’s “Allstars” season will also be there: Ninja veteran Sladjan Djulabic now meets in his first duel after his strong performances in Season 1 Patrick Basel on. Will “Sladi” make it to the final again on Sunday?
Those are the obstacles
The first round of duels starts with the jump kicks that lead to the wheel with the pendulum trunk. The ninjas then use the flying saucers to get to the dominoes. If you stay dry there, the pipeline and finally the wall in front of you.
In the second round of duels, the path to the buzzer starts with the surfboards and the bungee flight. Then it’s on to the clockwork via the hanger carrier, before the ten-meter-high chimney costs a lot of power again.
The eight best athletes then compete in four power tower duels to determine the next finalists.
