The 2023 Eurovision semi-final division is clear

This year, Finland will compete in the second half of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 2023 Eurovision semi-final division was drawn on Tuesday in Liverpool. Finland will appear in the second half of the first semi-final. Sweden, among others, appears in the same half.

The first semi-final will take place on Tuesday 9 May and the second semi-final on Thursday 11 May.

The first semi-final

Serbia, Sweden, Latvia, Ireland, Moldova, Switzerland, Norway, Israel, Portugal, the Netherlands, Croatia, Finland, Azerbaijan, Malta and the Czech Republic will compete in the first semi-final.

Serbia, Latvia, Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Croatia and Malta will compete in the first half of the first semi-final.

In the second half of the first semi-final, Sweden, Moldova, Switzerland, Israel, the Netherlands, Finland, Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic will compete.

This is the second year in a row that Finland and Sweden compete on the same night. The venue for the second half of the Eurovision Song Contest has traditionally been considered a place that promises a better result.

Second semi-final

In the second semi-final, Albania, Australia, Armenia, Cyprus, Romania, Austria, Denmark, Lithuania, San Marino, Belgium, Slovenia, Iceland, Georgia, Greece, Poland and Estonia will compete.

Armenia, Cyprus, Romania, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Iceland and Estonia will compete in the first half of the second semi-final.

Albania, Australia, Austria, Lithuania, San Marino, Slovenia, Georgia and Poland will compete in the first half of the second semi-final.

“United By Music”

The five major sponsoring countries: Italy, France, Spain, Great Britain and Germany are directly in the final. In addition to this, last year’s winning country Ukraine gets a direct place in the final.

Germany, France and Italy will vote in the first semi-final.

Spain and Great Britain will vote in the other semi-final. Last year’s winner Ukraine will also vote in the second semi-final.

The official theme and slogan of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is “United By Music”.

The performance order of the semifinals will be determined later in the spring. Eurovision producers make a decision based on the songs and staging.

The Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Liverpool, Great Britain in May. Finland’s representative will be chosen at Logomo in Turku on February 25 in the New Music Competition.
