The 10 most important grunge songs of all time

The Nineties began over 30 years ago, a decade that gave pop culture neon-colored memories and pop music pioneering genres: techno, Britpop, alternative rock and, er, Eurodance, for example. We spoke in detail with the author of this quote about “the best genre of all time” (Nilz Bokelberg): In our podcast “NEVER FORGET – the 90s podcast” we talked in detail with the VIVA legend about grunge and therefore about Chris, among other things Cornell’s voice of the century, the unbroken power of “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, Eddie Vedder’s grin, Evan Dando’s beauty, Courtney Love’s relationship with Billy Corgan and Nilz’s own band Fritten & Bier.

So that the podcast episode has at least a somewhat recognizable common thread, we’ll work our way through ten essential grunge songs together. And so that the late-born among you can also have a say, we’re collecting those songs here – without explanation, so that you can have a nice listen to the podcast, but with the legendary videos, if available. We can’t show them in the episode itself, for understandable reasons.
