After much outcry and a postponement due to the landslide in the Fréjus tunnel on 27 August, the official announcement regarding the closure of the Mont Blanc tunnel has arrived. The connection between Italy and France will be closed from 16 October to 18 December 2023 for renovation works. A temporary closure that could be repeated in the autumn period until 2040.
