Luis García’s team scored an epic point at the RCDE Stadium when they lost 0-3
The goals of César Montes, Joselu and Vinicius leave room for the hope of salvation
Espanyol came back from 0-3 against Atlético de Madrid, who seemed to have sealed the game just after the restart, in fifteen minutes of madness that fueled the blue and white team’s chances of permanence this season.
The rojiblanco team got the game back on track in the first half, with goals from Saúl and Griezmann, and finished it off after the break with another from Carrasco. Anyway, César Montes, Joselu -from a penalty- and Vini Souza completely changed the game from minute 64 to minute 79:Pacheco (6): Saúl put the ball through the only hole left by the goalkeeper in the first goal, he was the only footballer in the Perica defense who fought not to concede the second and only the VAR determined that he took the ball from the second already inside and in the third he cleared the first shot but could do nothing on the second. He stopped an unlikely shot at Griezmann that led to the final madness.
Oscar Gil (4): Lost. He had to dance with a Carrasco who was very active in the offensive zone and who totally won the game on the side. The best example, how he lost the Belgian’s mark after 15 seconds of the second half to make it 0-3.
Cesar Montes (5): Intermittent. He was not successful in the cut attempt of the first goal, he stared in the second and was slow to react in the third. Of course, his header to score 1-3 marked the path of the comeback.
Limestone (4): He could not prevent Saúl’s shot in the first goal and generated little defensive security. Another spectator in Griezmann’s goal despite the two rejections.
Cabrera (5): Like his teammates behind, portrayed at 0-2, but always dangerous in the air.
Brian Olivan (5): Vague. He was a cross machine in the first half but never connected with danger.
Darder (5): Off. In the most ‘darderista’ match, out of pure feeling, Sergi was not as sharp as on other days.
Denis Suarez (3): inconsequential. He came to take the helm of big games like this but there was no sign of him on the RCDE Stadium. Some unsuccessful filtered pass attempt. Little more.
Fistful (7): Switched on. Javi dropped it already in the first minutes. He was very involved in the game. He was the author of the penalty that ended in the provisional 2-3.
Melamed (7): Believer. He had the first of the game and showed faith in his comeback like few others. Parakeet feeling.
Joselu (6): In a game where he only had one shot, Joselu scored again from 11 meters and there are already 16 goals in LaLiga. Brutal.
Substitutions
Alex Vidal (7): Two key assists to be able to tie a 0-3 against.
Edu Exposito (6): Fresh air in the center of the field.
Pedrosa (6): Much more dagger.
Vinicius Souza (7): Author of a 3-3 that allows us to continue dreaming.
Braithwaite (5): He had a chance but he sent it out.
