A successful start to the season for the Eisbären with two wins. And that with the second youngest team in the DEL.
The average age of coach Serge Aubin’s team (48) is 25.7 years. Only the Iserlohn Roosters are younger (24.7). The “ice hockey chick” is 16-year-old defender Rio Kaiser. At 2 meters tall, he is also the tallest player for the record champions.
Eisbären master coach Pierre Pagé (71, 2 titles) once said: “Young players are still hungry and still want to achieve something. Older professionals, on the other hand, only look at the payslip.”
And sports director Stephane Richer (57) brought exactly some of these young, success-hungry players to Berlin with Kaiser, Lean Bergmann (24), Michael Bartuli (21) and Tobi Eder (25).
US defender Ben Finkelstein is also only 25 years old. Everything is an investment in the future.
