That’s why Real Madrid didn’t dare to move forward with Mbappé in the summer

Last summer the transfer poker surrounding Kylian Mbappé went haywire. Despite this, not a word was heard from Madrid the entire time. And apparently for good reason.

Although Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé were in a clinch in the summer of 2023 and fought it out openly in front of the eyes of the football world, they kept their feet still at Real Madrid. Apart from a single public denial, neither the usually talkative Florentino Pérez nor anyone else in charge commented on the French superstar.

According to a report by “OK Diario”, there was a very special reason for this. Accordingly, the Real bosses were firmly convinced that Mbappé would not leave Paris under any circumstances – despite a temporary suspension and a mega offer from Saudi Arabia.

Mbappé deadline by January 15th?

In the end, the Royals were right with their assessment. Mbappé and PSG buried their hatchet and found each other again shortly after the start of the season. However, the future of the 24-year-old has not yet been clarified.

From January 1st, Mbappé can freely negotiate a move with other clubs. According to Spanish media, the Madrilenians expect a final decision from the top striker by January 15th. If this is not done by then, Real will supposedly put the issue on file.

Real Madrid takes a strange measure

Many Los Blancos fans are apparently still convinced that Mbappé will move to their club next summer. For this reason, Real has now taken a strange measure. According to SER Deportivos, the name Mbappé has been banned from all official Real fan shops. This means: If you want a Real jersey with the Frenchman’s name on it, you have to get it another way.

In addition to Mbappé, this measure allegedly also affects Erling Haaland. He is also said to be on the Royals’ wish list. However, a Real jersey with his name on it cannot be obtained officially.
