It’s probably one of the most piquant questions you can ask another person: How satisfied are you with your sex life? A question that few people like to answer honestly face to face. If you can give the answer anonymously, the truth is obviously much easier.
The dating app Parship asked its users (between 18 and 69 years of age) exactly this question together with the market research institute Innofact AG. The result of the representative study: One in five people (21 percent) in our country is dissatisfied with their sex life! The rate is even higher for men at 24 percent than for women (18 percent).
According to the survey, the 50 to 59 year old age group (28 percent) is particularly unhappy in bed, followed by 40 to 49 year old Germans (24 percent).
What are the reasons for this dissatisfaction? According to the survey, for one in two people, sex is only good if their partner also reaches orgasm. Which is obviously too rarely the case…
Dissatisfaction during sex also arises because HE or SHE has inhibitions about letting go, because there is not enough talk about wishes and needs and because one of the partners feels uncomfortable with their body.
What can you do about sexual dissatisfaction? “Sex thrives primarily on variety, experimentation, openness and especially on communication between the couple,” says sex advisor Jana Förster to the BZ. “Erotic resuscitation measures can be a lot of fun and bring you as a couple much closer together again. Because: The desire for sex comes from the desire for sex! Quality is much more important than frequency. With a new quality, the quantity will increase again on its own.”
Role-playing games are a great way to bring a breath of fresh air into the bedroom. Sex toys could also provide an additional incentive, according to the expert.
But the survey also shows: More than one in two people (58 percent) are satisfied with their sex life.
