After Elton John was photographed in a wheelchair after his concert in Leipzig, the rumors started. Has the 75-year-old sustained an injury, is he ill? But the worries are unfounded. In an Instagram post, the “Rocket Man” addressed his fans and wrote that he was in “perfect health”.
“I would like to thank all my fans who have contacted me about the wheelchair” – this is how Elton’s message begins. The tabloids had spread a “stupid story” about his health that was not true. “I’m in the best of health, I love my shows – I always do my best when it comes to singing and playing,” it says. He never wants to disappoint his fans because they had to wait so long for concerts. Here is the Instagram post. The reason for taking a seat in a wheelchair is very simple: the distances at the airport are simply extremely long; and in order to be able to spare his waist, the vehicle was offered to him.
Elton John has been touring since 2018. Due to the pandemic, however, the concerts had to be postponed or canceled again and again. The singer has been on the road again since January this year, and is currently performing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road show in Italy.
