That’s on the rumors that Mel Gibson is working on a sex trafficking documentary

Mel Gibson is rumored to be working on a documentary about a multi-billion dollar sex trafficking ring that affects children. Internet users and the media see his involvement with the anti-sex trafficking organization Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) as reason to believe the documentary may soon see the light of day. The topic first trended on Twitter.

The founder of the OUR, Tim Ballard, had already hinted in January 2023 that Gibson had been involved in the OUR documentary “It’s Happening Right Here”. However, Gibson denied this. Nevertheless, political influencers keep expressing their support for Gibson and his alleged project.

Where are the rumors coming from?

On June 7, the Leading Report Twitter account posted an alleged breaking news story. “Mel Gibson is reportedly working on a four-part docu-series about the $34 billion child sex trafficking market, which also involves countries like Ukraine.” The tweet has since been flagged. “This claim has no sources. Gibson himself denies such reports through a spokesman,” it said.

Other social media channels shared the news. “Mel Gibson is working on a documentary about the $34 billion child sex trafficking market. Jeffrey Epstein is just the tip of the iceberg. IT’S TIME TO BRING THE TRUTH OUT!” wrote conspiracy-loving Matt Wallace on Twitter. Again, a note from Twitter: “Although OUR founder Tim Ballard hinted in January 2023 that Gibson was involved in his forthcoming four-part docu-series, Gibson’s rep has told Newsweek that neither report is accurate.”

Mel Gibson’s connection to the OUR

Gibson has been associated with the OUR several times in the past. In July 2022, he posted a photo wearing a hat with the organization’s logo on it. Ballard also claims Gibson was a major contributor to his film Sound of Freedom, though the Braveheart actor doesn’t appear in the official credits. “Sound of Freedom” is a previously unreleased biopic about Tim Ballard and human trafficking in Latin America.

“I told Mel, ‘You have to help me. That will be expensive. I won’t ask you for a direct donation, but can you help me shoot it? Let’s film what’s really going on so people understand and know they can support us,” Ballard said in January 2023, confirming that Gibson helped him. The former CIA agent went on to say that Mel Gibson contacted him in January 2022. The 67-year-old director is said to have asked Ballard to save children from Ukraine.

However, Mel Gibson has yet to comment on the matter.

Mel Gibson’s controversial comments in the past

The director and actor has drawn attention to himself several times in the past with homophobic and racist statements. When arrested in 2006, Gibson told a police officer that “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” In 2010, a recording surfaced of him telling a friend he hoped she would be “raped by a group of niggers.”

Winona Ryder spoke about her experiences with Gibson in an interview. “We were at a well-attended party with one of my good friends,” Ryder recalled. “And Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, we were all talking, and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I getting AIDS now?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You are Not an oven crook after all, right?” A Gibson rep told Variety that Ryder’s claims “are not 100% true” that she “lied about it when she spoke to the press over a decade ago, and she’s lying even now.”

In early 2023, various media outlets reported on a film about the Rothschild family that Gibson is said to be working on. However, its representatives denied this.
