The Dutch lyricist and musician Peter Blanker (82) will give his very last performance on Sunday. Many people don’t light up when they hear his name. But that still ignites when his biggest hit is quoted: ”It is difficult to remain modest’, also a great success with us. But what about the eighties? Blanker talks about being able to live off your music, why he returned from the Scottish Shetland Islands five years ago and about the time a fan cut a piece of his hair. “There have been times when I have cursed that fame. People wanted to touch you.”
