“That woman asks such stupid questions!”

Anita Witzier should no longer be invited to play the role of table lady in the talk show Khalid & Sophie, says opinion maker Victor Vlam. “She asks a lot of really stupid questions.”

Victor Flame tells in the podcast The Communicados that he respects the oeuvre of Anita Witzier. “It is of course someone who has presented major programs, such as Memories, Hints and 10 Voor Taal. But of course she is a bit older these days and she wants to profile herself more substantively. And that is still not working very well.”

Anita at the table

Actually, Anita wanted to work as a presenter of Op1. “But she was then passed by Talitha Muusse. He went to present Op1 with Sven Kockelmann. Anita had indicated that she would also like to do that. She even did a screen test for it, Angela de Jong revealed at some point. So yes, she clearly wants to go that way.”

Unfortunately, not everyone is convinced of Anita’s abilities. “Apparently KRO-NCRV didn’t think she was good enough. And now she sits at the table with Khalid & Sofie about every two weeks as a duo on duty. And yes, that is just a bit of the function of table master or table lady.”

Stupid questions

What is the role of a table lady? “Look, the rule is if you are the guest of the day on that program: you must not make the program worse. Absolutely, rather more than that, but at least you shouldn’t make it worse. And the problem is a bit: Anita Witzier really makes it a whole lot worse. It’s really a drama.”

The opinion maker continues relentlessly: “It is sometimes said: you cannot ask stupid questions. Well, I’ll tell you: Anita Witzier asks a lot of stupid questions. A lot of really stupid questions. And is also very present in that program. Very present.”

Leopard 2

Can Victor give an example? “Just an example of such a question. At the end of January it was about those Leopard 2 tanks that were delivered to Ukraine. And there is an expert in that field at the table, a former tank commander. And Anita Witzier asks the man the following question: ‘Are you really invincible in such a tank?’”

Of course not, Victor fills in. “If you can think of the answer before it’s given by the expert, it’s a bad question.”

‘Stop it!’

Co-host Lars Duursma: “Actually every time Anita Witzier asks a question, as a viewer you already know what the answer will be.”

Victor: “Yes, yes, often. They are often bad questions, indeed. Yeah, this just isn’t what she’s cut out for, but she’s on the show a lot, so it annoys me a lot.”

Lars: “But why is she being asked back? Because such an editorial team should also see this, right?”

Victor: “No idea. I don’t know if broadcasting politics is at play there, or if a deal has been made. I really have no idea. There can be many reasons for this. All I can say is: less as far as I’m concerned.”
