“That can not be true!” Hamann rages against Nagelsmann

Former national player Dietmar Hamann once again took aim at national coach Julia Nagelsmann and sharply criticized the former coach of FC Bayern. The reason: a visit to the stadium by the DFB coach with his girlfriend.

Julian Nagelsmann actually only went about his duties as national coach on Wednesday. The 36-year-old was there live in the stadium during VfB Stuttgart’s cup game against BVB to take a closer look at a few of his protégés.

He was accompanied by his girlfriend Lena Wurzenberger. So far, so normal. But not for ex-national player Dietmar Hamann, who accused the ex-Bayern coach of amateurish behavior.

Hamann: Nagelsmann behaves “unprofessionally”

“When I saw that, I thought to myself: That can’t be true,” Hamann reacted to “Bild” about the pictures from the Stuttgart stand.

The TV expert continued: “The national team is up to its neck in water and the national coach is going on a family trip to Stuttgart, according to the motto: It will be fine.” Apparently Hamann didn’t like that Nagelsmann’s girlfriend accompanied him to the game. What exactly bothered him about it? Not clear.

What is clear to Hamann is that such behavior is simply not appropriate in the current phase. “For me it’s unprofessional, incomprehensible and hard to beat in terms of ignorance,” he shot at the national coach.

Matthäus sees a visit to the stadium as relaxing

Record national player Lothar Matthäus, however, was not at all critical of the couple’s joint visit. “You have to leave that to each person’s own opinion. Julian is watching a game with his girlfriend – I don’t see anything critical about it,” he told the “Bild” newspaper.

An assessment that Julia Nagelsmann will certainly share – but it falls on deaf ears from Dietmar Hamann.
