CelebritiesAmerican actor Danny Masterson (47), best known for his role in the hit series ‘That 70s Show’, has been sentenced. The actor was found guilty of rape in June. On Wednesday evening he was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

After a week of intense deliberations, the curtain fell tonight on the trial of ‘That 70s Show’ actor Danny Masterson. The actor was tried for drugging and raping several women and was found guilty in June. Today, Wednesday, the judge determined his sentence: he now has to spend 30 years in prison. Although the first charge against Masterson was dismissed by the judge in December 2022, several other serious charges soon followed, resulting in a new trial that started in April. The 47-year-old actor drugged and then raped three women in his Los Angeles home between 2001 and 2003.

“The women suddenly lost their vision, lost their strength, had no control over their bodies and had both vaginal and anal pain. And all this after the accused gave them an alcoholic drink. The evidence will show that Masterson drugged these women,” said Reinhold Mueller, one of the prosecutors in the trial. Mueller represented the three women who accuse Masterson of drugging and rape.

You’re pathetic, crazy and completely violent

One of the victims testified on Wednesday in the final trial against the actor: “You are pathetic, disturbed and completely violent. The world is better off with you in prison,” he said. Judge Olmedo delivered the final verdict: “Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away someone else’s choice and voice. Your actions were criminal in nature and that is why you are here.”

Throughout the entire process, his wife, Bijou Philips (45), stayed by his side. In addition, Masterson could count on support from his family members, including Christopher and Jordan. According to intimates of the couple, Philips is only “a shadow of who she used to be” and she realizes that she will have to raise her child alone. This is reported by ‘Daily Mail’.

The scandal surrounding her husband is yet another in Philips’ life. She is the daughter of The Mamas & The Papas musician John Phillips, and his third wife Geneviève Waïte. Neither of her biological parents raised her. Instead, Bijou was placed in a foster home in New York around the age of three because Phillips and Waïte were deemed “unfit” to care for her. She officially quit school at the age of 14, but ended up in rehab just three years later.

In 2004, she met Masterson at a poker tournament in Las Vegas. Five years later the couple became engaged. They married in 2011 and welcomed their daughter Fianna on Valentine’s Day in 2014. Both are also open members of Scientology.
