Thanks to light embalming, Didier and Shana were able to take their deceased baby home for nine days: “Still able to mother and father for a while” | Domestic

REPORTINGDidier (33) and Shana (32) recently lost their baby daughter Loua June to a congenital heart defect. Thanks to thanatopraxy – a light embalming technique that replaces all body fluids with a preserving fluid – they were able to take their little princess home with them after mortem for another nine days. “Those extra cuddle days were so beneficial. At night in bed we read stories to our children, with Loua June in the middle. Other parents need to know this, although it is not for everyone.”
