“Thanks to Lesly’s Combative Character”: How 4 Kids Survived in the Jungle for 40 Days | Abroad

It looks like a Hollywood blockbuster: a Colombian family leaves the primitive Amazon in the hope of a better life in the capital. Dad arranged everything. His wife and children (11 months, 4, 9 and 13 years) fly over until the engine fails and the plane crashes. The mother and pilot die. The four young children have to survive all alone in the jungle. They keep that up for 40 days. A reconstruction, with a heroic role for 13-year-old Lesly.
