Thanks to lamb radar you can see exactly where lambs are frolicking in the meadow on Texel

Spring beckons and so they are back: the lambs! With the ‘lamb radar’ you can see exactly where on Texel (newborn) lambs are hopping around in the meadow. Most now seem to be frolicking near the Hoge Berg nature reserve.

The lamb radar is an initiative of VVV Texel. The tourism bureau started this in 2019 and it quickly turned out to be a success. This year the lamb radar is linked to a photo competition. Until May 17, people can post their best photos of the lambs send it to the tourist office. Those who take the most beautiful photos have a chance to win a prize.

The VVV continuously monitors the lamb radar, media partner reports Texelse Courant. Where the sheep can be seen sometimes varies: the lambs are regularly moved to another pasture and the farmer then shares that new location.

Every year thousands of lambs are born on the sheep island of Texel. At the height of lambing season, there are as many, if not more, sheep than people on the island.
