Huth scores from the point
The HFC had more game shares at the beginning, but didn’t really come up with dangerous attacks. The already relegated Kickers, who were the fifth team in history to be passed from the 2nd Bundesliga to the Regionalliga, drew attention to themselves for the first time after ten minutes. David Kopacz failed from almost ten meters but Daniel Mesenhöler’s foot defense (10th). A few minutes later, Saliou Sané also failed from close range at the HFC keeper. In this phase, none of the defensive stability demanded by coach André Meyer in advance could be seen. The Halle team survived the short pressure phase without further damage. After almost half an hour, the HFC finally took the lead. After a long ball into the top, Elias Huth was pushed at the end – there were penalties. The fouled himself started and turned safely into the middle. Shortly before the break, Würzburg came up again. Marvin Pourie, who came into play for ex-Dynamo Marvin Stefaniak, who had been replaced injured, only hit the outside post (45′) and put a free kick over the goal (45′ + 2′).
Fast response from the HFC
In the second half, both teams were well sorted for a long time and didn’t really allow anything defensively. So it took until the 63rd minute before something like danger arose in front of a goal again. But Mesenhöler was able to easily pick up the shot from Kopacz from almost 20 meters. Then it got a little wild on the pitch. The Würzburg team first equalized through Peter Kurzweg, who had just come into the game. After a good pass, he tipped the ball past Mesenhöler from eight yards (74′). Four minutes later, however, the HFC celebrated again. After a throw-in, the HFC was faster in thought, Huth headed the cross into the net from a few meters. Würzburg complained terribly about the goal because Halle is said to have gained an advantage. But everything was clean. Kraulich had indicated an injury, but then ran back to the center of defence. According to his own statement, he reported a substitution. But the game was not interrupted. Halle played quickly and successfully, while the Kickers defense just wasn’t alert enough.
Side note: For Michael Eberwein, the time in Halle is over before the last game. He saw his fifth yellow card in the first half and will therefore miss the end of the season.
