Thailand wants to further relax the entry rules for twice vaccinated tourists.
From March 1st, as part of the “Test&Go” model, visitors would only have to take a PCR test upon arrival and then wait for the result in a specialized hotel.
So far, a second PCR test on the fifth day with another mandatory night in the hotel was mandatory – this rule is now no longer applicable, the news portal “The Thaiger” reported on Wednesday after a meeting of the Covid crisis center CCSA.
Instead, holiday guests can do an antigen test themselves on the 5th day and send the result to the authorities via an app. However, vacationers still have to apply for a so-called “Thailand Passport” online. It is strongly recommended that you get detailed information from the authorities.
Infection numbers are increasing
At the end of December, the government in Bangkok decided to put the “Test&Go” model introduced in November on hold for fear of rising numbers of cases due to Omicron. It was resumed at the beginning of February – albeit in a more severe form. This has deterred many tourists from traveling to Thailand, it said.
