There is another insolvency case in the German clothing trade. The businessman Peter Schödlbauer, who runs the boutique Mode Schödlbauer in Bad Kötzting in eastern Bavaria and the online shopshemden-meister.de and Mode-schoedlbauer.de as part of a sole proprietorship, filed for bankruptcy at the beginning of February, explained the lawyer Hubert Ampferl in a statement. The restructuring expert from the law firm Dr. Accordingly, Beck & Partner was appointed provisional insolvency administrator by the competent district court in Regensburg.
Ampferl cited the effects of the ongoing “slump in consumption” in the clothing trade as the reason for the entrepreneur’s financial problems. However, no specific business figures were published. The wages and salaries of the 32 employees are now secured for the next three months via the insolvency money, according to a statement.
According to the insolvency administrator, the business operations of the affected companies will initially “continue in full with the existing workforce”. At the same time, “a future solution is already being worked on at full speed”. In this context, “both strategically and organizationally, concepts for strengthening competitiveness are being developed,” says Ampferl.
With regard to the chances of success, the lawyer was confident: “Regardless of the crisis in the fashion industry, I see good overall chances of maintaining the business,” he explained. “The return rate, for example, is well below the industry average.”
Peter Schödlbauer himself was also optimistic: “Together with the provisional insolvency administration, we are working flat out on a viable solution for the future of the fashion house and the online shops,” he is quoted as saying in a statement. “On this path, I continue to count firmly on the trust and loyalty of my customers.”
