The dress rehearsal was last week during ‘De Nacht Staat Op’, but tonight all clubs can finally open completely again. That means dancing late into the night and no more than one and a half meters. It is therefore increasingly crowded on the test street: “I can’t wait to finally meet new people.”
Amsterdam night mayor Ramon de Lima can’t wait to finally get back into the nightlife. “We missed it so much,” he says from the Melkweg where he will kick off his night out tonight. “We have all been looking forward to it, but especially for the people who have turned eighteen in the corona crisis and can finally go out for the first time, I am very happy.”
They are preparing for crowds at a Testing for Access location on Gelderlandplein. “We notice that compared to last month, it has increased enormously with bookings around the weekends. But on the other hand you also see that it is quieter during the week, so you can really see that it is for events,” tells owner Lorraine Clewits.

The crowds at the test street don’t really matter to the people. “I’m so looking forward to tonight, having a good time in the carnival tent. I don’t mind having to test either, I’m very willing to do that,” says a visitor.
