After the cancellation of their World Cup playoff games on March 24, Scotland and Poland will play a friendly.
According to the Scottish association, part of the proceeds from the game at Hampden Park will benefit Unicef’s aid to Ukraine.
Scotland were supposed to play Ukraine that day, but world governing body FIFA had postponed the game to June. This means that a request from the Ukrainian association, which had asked for a postponement because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, has been granted, FIFA said last week.
Since Russia was also excluded from all competitions, the playoff game against Poland, who enter the second playoff phase without a game, is also omitted. Russia has appealed against the exclusion before the International Sports Court Cas.
