On Platform X, Musk explained that the Roadster has undergone a design overhaul. “There will never be a car like this again, if you can even call it a car,” the billionaire promised in a post on his platform.

It is a collaboration between Tesla and his space company SpaceX, Musk continued. “I think there is a chance that this will be the most stunning product launch of all time,” he promised.
To 100km/h in under a second
But he obviously doesn’t just want to set new records in terms of design. The sports car should be able to go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in under a second, according to the Tesla boss, without going into more detailed specifications for the vehicle. But acceleration is still “the least interesting part,” promised Musk.

Bugatti believes Musk’s promise is possible
In the past, Musk had made delivery, price or design promises for Tesla models on various occasions, but was ultimately unable to fulfill many of them. At least technically, the head of the sports car manufacturer Bugatti Rimac, Mate Rimac, believes that the acceleration promised by Musk for the Roadster is definitely feasible, as he confirmed in a Facebook post when asked by a user.
“It’s possible with engines,” replied Rimac under a photo of the engine for Bugatti’s new Chiron sports car. “We did the simulation.” However, this is “really the only way” because other, alternative acceleration methods are too impractical.
