Tesla stock: Tesla with delivery record in the second quarter

The electric car manufacturer Tesla published its production and delivery figures for the second quarter on Sunday.

In the second quarter of 2023, Tesla produced 479,700 vehicles and delivered 466,140 electric cars to customers. The group is done with that Elon Musk set a new quarterly record and exceeded analysts’ expectations. Most of them had expected a new delivery record, but according to “Reuters” they only expected Tesla to bring 445,000 cars to customers.

As the carmaker further reports, 19,489 Model S and Model X vehicles were produced and 19,225 delivered to customers in the three-month period. Quarterly production of the cheaper Model 3 and Model Y e-cars was 460,211 units, and 446,915 units were delivered.

The second-quarter delivery record shows that Tesla’s year-to-date efforts to stimulate demand through rebates have been successful. However, as in the first quarter, production exceeded deliveries. However, at 13,560 vehicles, inventory build-up in the second quarter was smaller than in the first three months of the current year, when overproduction was more than 18,000 vehicles.

Tesla will report full second-quarter results on July 19 after the close of trading on US stock exchanges.
