Tesla says it can lower the price through efficiency gains in its production processes. For example, Tesla now charges 43,970 euros for the basic version of the Model Y, compared to 47,970 euros previously. The price of the most expensive version, the Model Y Performance, drops to 56,970 euros.
Last week, Tesla launched a promotion in Belgium where it offered a number of Model Y stock cars for 39,999 euros. This makes the SUV eligible for the 5,000 euro premium from the Flemish government for the purchase of fully electric cars. This only applies to cars that cost a maximum of 40,000 euros.
Tesla is not only lowering the prices of the Model Y in Belgium. The SUV is also becoming cheaper elsewhere in Europe – including in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Norway.
