Moving a hospital is quite a job, as it turned out today when Tergooi Hilversum and Blaricum moved to one large medical center in Hilversum, the Tergooi MC. All patients in Blaricum were moved today in a special column. “For me it was a very pleasant journey from Blaricum to here. I think it went completely according to plan,” says Toon Smit, one of the patients who was moved today.

In recent years, we have been looking forward to this move. The employees really enjoy this special day. “I think it’s really beautiful, it’s really unreal. It’s even more beautiful than we imagined on the drawings. I really enjoy it,” says Janneke Brink-Daamen, chairman of the Board of Directors of Tergooi about the new location.

Single rooms

Not only the location has changed, the hospital also offers the latest equipment and even single rooms. “The single rooms help enormously for the rest of the patients. Furthermore, all equipment has also been replaced, so it is all state-of-the-art,” says Janneke.

Toon Smit is very happy with his new room: “All single rooms that look beautiful with their own bathroom. So a lot of privacy and also a lot of rest.”

Old location

The old location of the hospital in Blaricum will also be missed by patients and employees. Chris Schubart is a psychiatrist at the hospital: “What I think I’m going to miss about the location in Blaricum is the beautiful row of trees you have there along the parking garage, which is also a beautiful way to enter. I worked there for a long time and at the same time: It’s really beautiful here too.”

As of today, visitors are welcome in the new location in Hilversum and even the first operation was successfully completed today.
