One in four students does not apply for a grant

Amsterdam – Tens of thousands of MBO students have missed out on an additional monthly scholarship, even though they were entitled to it. As a result, they lost an average of 190 euros per month; the maximum amount is 370 euros. Due to unfamiliarity with the rules, a complicated application procedure or the fear of being stuck with a loan. According to the Central Planning Bureau, these are all reasons why more than a quarter of MBO students miss out on their supplementary grant.
