When the dust clouds had lifted, the scoreboard at Sportpark De Toekomst tonight read 6-3. Young Ajax made mincemeat of ADO Den Haag on the basis of an unparalleled Mohammed Kudus. The Ghanaian midfielder signed for a hat-trick.
It was therefore not surprising that Kudus already scored twice in the first half. The 21-year-old player of the first made the 1-0 and 3-1. He first scored on a cross by Youri Baas and just before the tea break Kudus converted a penalty.
Sudden comeback ADO
In between, both teams scored once. Ex-Ajacied Ricardo Kishna signed for the equalizer, after which Young Ajax striker Danilo scored one-on-one with goalkeeper Alessandro Damen for the 2-1.
After four goals in the first company, five were added after the break. Naci Ünüvar seemed to decide the match after a free combination and completion, but nothing could be further from the truth. Thomas Verheijdt and Sem Steijn quickly brought ADO Den Haag back into the game by scoring in the 58th and 59th minute.

Kudus and Ünüvar show class
The team from Amsterdam turned out not to be thrilled, because the final chord was again for the team of trainer John Heitinga. Kudus blasted the ball hard and high into the short corner after a one-two with Ünüvar: 5-3. Seven minutes before the end, opportunity captain Ünüvar determined the final score at 6-3 by using a penalty kick with a real panenka (marker through the middle).
After this gala performance, Jong Ajax is fifth in the first division with 52 points after 29 matches. With that, it temporarily fends off ADO’s attack, which remains sixth.
