Polish tennis pro Kamil Majchrzak has been banned for 13 months for doping offenses. This was announced by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
The 27-year-old accepted the punishment. In the case of Majchrzak, who was 75th in the ATP world rankings in February 2022, banned substances had been detected in several doping tests. That is why he was provisionally suspended on November 30, 2022. This time will be counted towards the end of his ban on December 29, 2023.
Majchrzak admitted to the anti-doping rule violations, attributing them to the unknowing ingestion of a contaminated dietary supplement. As evidence, he produced purchase receipts and samples of the dietary supplement from the same batch for testing. The ITIA accepted his explanation and rated it as a mitigating sentence.
