The former French Open winner Swiatek had won the tournament in Miami last weekend and had already been determined as Barty’s successor. The Czech Barbora Krejcikova follows in second place in the new ranking published on Monday, ahead of the Spaniard Paula Badosa. The best German is the former world number one Angelique Kerber in 16th place.

Zverev takes third place

In the men’s category, Alexander Zverev from Hamburg is third behind Serbian Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev. The Russian failed to return to the top at the tournament in Miami. Medvedev then had an operation for a small hernia and now has to take a month or two off.
