Tennis player Zverev in Madrid final against Alcaraz

Alexander Zverev will face Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the Madrid masters tournament. The second-seeded Zverev defeated the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets on the night from Saturday to Sunday in Madrid in the semifinals: 6-4 3-6 6-2.

Earlier in the evening, Alcaraz had caused a stunt by beating world number 1 Novak Djokovic after 3.5 hours of tennis (6-7 (5) 7-5 7-6 (5). In the quarterfinals, the 19 -year-old Spaniard also beat his compatriot Rafael Nadal, five-time winner in Madrid, after a long match. Alcaraz is the world number 9. He already won the masters tournament in Miami and the clay tournament in Barcelona this year.

Zverev is the defending champion in Madrid. The German won the master tournament twice.
