Tennis player Tallon Greekpoor surprises in Rotterdam with a victory at number 8 in the world

Tallon Mozespoor is in the quarter-finals of the ABN AMRO Open. The tennis player from Nieuw-Vennep won in an exciting match with 6-7 (5) 7-6 (5) 7-6 (4) against the Pole Hubert Hurkacz, number 8 in the world.

In a reasonably full Ahoy, both players were close in level. The first set was evenly matched and a tiebreak was needed for the decision. Earlier, Greek Spoor served away two set points at 6-5, but in the tiebreak it was Hurkacz who won the set. He did this with an ace, of which he hit a total of 28. Greekspor hit 23.

The image in the second set was just like in the first. Greek Spoor and Hurkacz were virtually incomparable to each other. In a high-quality set without breaks, the margins were small and another tiebreak was needed. Greek Spoor was able to intervene and balance the match. With a service winner it became 1-1 in sets.

In the third and decisive act, Fransepoor then made the first break, but Hurkacz immediately canceled it. The Dutchman, who reached the semi-finals in Ahoy last year, nevertheless recovered well. In another tiebreak he won, which led to tears from his Belgian coach Kristof Vliegen.

In the quarter-finals, Greek Spoor, number 29 in the world, will play against the German Jan-Lennard Struff or the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori. They will play against each other on Thursday evening.
