Tennis player Jesper de Jong from Hoofddorp has won the Challenger tournament in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Poland. The North Hollander won in two sets (6-3, 6-3) against Benjamin Hassan from Lebanon.
For the 23-year-old from Hoofddorp, it was his fourth challenger final this year. Previously he was in the finals in Rome, Quinta do Lago and Tigre.
De Jong is currently 183rd in the world ranking, but his tournament win will see him enter the top 150. Behind Tallon Greek track and Botic van de Zandschulp, De Jong is the number 3 in the Netherlands. De Jong passes Gijs Brouwer from Venhuizen.
