Yannick Hanfmann is in the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Gstaad after winning the German tennis duel against Daniel Altmaier.
The 31-year-old from Karlsruhe beat 24-year-old Altmaier 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Hanfmann now meets the Serbian Hamad Medjedovic at the sand court event in Switzerland.
The 20-year-old qualifier defeated former US Open winner Dominic Thiem from Austria in the round of 16. The clay court tournament is endowed with almost 563,000 euros.
