Tennis, French Open, Alexander Zverev: “Half of the tournament with Alcaraz, Djokovic and Nadal is its own Grand Slam” – French Open – Tennis

sports show: A few months ago you met Sergi Bruguera (two-time French Open-Winner and Spanish Davis Cup captain Note d. editor) accepted into their team as a coach. After a health break, your father is back. What do you both give as coaches?

Zverev: I brought in Sergi Bruguera because I didn’t have a coach and simply need specific help and support in my training and in my tennis life. I didn’t have that for six months because my father wasn’t there. My father gives me a certain stability and calm that I don’t get from anyone else. But I’m glad that both are there and they add a lot to me.

sports show: I felt that defeat at the Australian Open had a long-lasting effect (round of 16 knockout against Denis Shapovalov Note d. editor). Then there were other distressing things like the Acapulco freak out and those ATP-Investigation. How are you now before next yearhighlights?

Zverev: It was a difficult year for me, in general. But all of this is slowly going in the right direction and that firstly I can concentrate on tennis and secondly I get peace in my life. This is also very important for a tennis pro.

sports show: What are your specific goals with the French Open and the second half of 2022?

Zverev: The goals haven’t changed. I still want to be a champion, win tournaments and at Grand Slams play at the front.
