A fantastic week also for another Italian, Jasmine Paolini, who won the title of the women’s ITF for 100 thousand dollars in prize money which ended on the hard courts of Les Franqueses del Valles, in Spain. In the final, the 26-year-old from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, n.78 in the ranking, beat Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl, n.178 in an hour and 35 minutes, by 6-4 6-4, also taking revenge for the defeat remedied last year in the decisive round of the qualifiers of the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells (where the Tuscan tennis player would then be fished out as a lucky loser going up to the third round). For Paolini this is the ninth ITF trophy she has won in her career (to which must be added the titles in the Wta 250 of Portoroz and in the Wta 125k of Bol last year). Thanks to the points accumulated in Spain, the blue recovers about fifteen places in the ranking and goes back to number 63, immediately ahead (and by only five points) of Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
