With a protest action, fans of FC Bayern Munich caused a two-minute interruption of the DFB Cup game against third division team Preußen Münster.
After around 30 minutes of play, the supporters of the record cup winner threw numerous tennis balls onto the field. They also showed a large poster with the inscription: “No to the Supercup on the cup weekend!”
Delayed delivery of the First round game
The first round game in Münster was only played on Tuesday evening (September 26th, 2023) because the Munich team played in the Supercup against RB Leipzig on the actual cup date in August.
The Supercup and the first cup round have been scheduled in parallel since last season. After the balls were removed, referee Matthias Jöllenbeck continued the game.
