Tennant Company and Brain Corp Sign Exclusive Technology Agreement to Drive Innovation and Adoption of Floor Cleaning Robots

With the new X4 ROVR, Tennant will launch the company’s first purpose-built autonomous mobile robot (AMR) in the second quarter of 2024. The X4 ROVR offers enhanced maneuverability, is specifically designed for use in smaller spaces and is controlled by Brain Corp’s next-generation navigation software and hardware suite, used exclusively on Tennant machines for floor care applications. The compact size, optimized obstacle detection and advanced mobility reduce the need for manual intervention and significantly improve customer ROI. The X4 ROVR will accelerate the adoption of robotic cleaners by providing an entry point for customers previously inaccessible to robotic technologies. It is the first of many planned AMR cleaning solutions based on next-generation Brain Corp technology and used exclusively in Tennant devices. This agreement aims to accelerate the creation of a portfolio of floor cleaning robots to cover more cleaning applications, improving customer return on investment and driving adoption.

Based on this agreement, Tennant invested $32 million in Brain Corp. Fay West, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Tennant Company, will join Brain Corp.’s board of directors.
