Tengelmann reorganizes management

The retail group Tengelmann Twenty-One KG has redesigned the areas of responsibility in the management. The aim of the measures is to “embed future topics more firmly,” said the parent company of the retail chains Kik and Obi on Thursday.

Accordingly, Andreas Guldin, who has been a member of the management board since 2018, is now acting as Chief Global Strategist. In this role, he is “responsible for the strategic alignment of the overall organization and the investment portfolio,” the company explained. In addition, Guldin works “closely with the sole managing partner Christian Haub to align the group for the future and successfully prepare for the generation change”.

Ágnes Faragó was also given additional tasks. As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), she “continues to be responsible for the finances of the organization”, but has “additionally assumed responsibility for the topics of real estate, compliance and IT,” said Tengelmann.

Jela Götting and Alfred Gutekunst were appointed to the group’s management at the end of last year. Götting, who has been in charge of human resources as Chief People Officer since 2021, is now also responsible for sustainability together with CEO Christian Haub, the company explained. As Chief Retail Officer, Gutekunst is responsible for “the further development of the large holding companies Obi and Kik”. In addition, he was “still responsible for the family office of the shareholders, in which he had already been working for the managing partner for almost ten years”.

CEO Haub explained the reforms: “I am very pleased about the realignment and expansion of my management team,” he said in a statement. “We are now an extremely diverse team with a wide range of experiences, perspectives, training and backgrounds. In this way, we can already meet our increasingly complex challenges much better today.”
