Essity’s Finnish database has been targeted by an advanced, criminal information security attack, the company says in its announcement to its former and current consumer customers of the Tena store.
Tena is part of the international Essity Oy.
There is no exact information on the extent of the attack, but customers’ customer and contact information as well as order information could have ended up in the hands of criminals, Essity estimates in its release.
Tena is a manufacturer of incontinence products. Its customers are both private customers and municipalities and cities. Tena also offers services to nursing homes, pharmacies and healthcare units.
The data security attack occurred on August 25, 2023. Essity was informed of the personal data leak on September 5, 2023.
