– That’s how I felt when I received an open letter from Sinéad O’Connor. I had no idea how fragile his mental state was.
The 20-year-old Cyrus also took a stand on Twitter, where he joked at the expense of O’Connor and actress Amanda Bynes, who suffer from mental health problems.
– It is not acceptable to sneer at someone else’s suffering, O’Connor replied to Cyrus at the time.
Cyrus states that he has grown a lot spiritually in ten years. Despite everything, the singer says that he still loves the Wrecking Ball song and at the same time reveals why O’Connor’s words seemed difficult at the time.
– I had been criticized for so long for my own choices that I was just exhausted. With the song Wrecking Ball, I felt like I was making my own decisions and choices.
