Ten years in prison for fire to order | 1Limburg

Justice wants to see Ruud V. (48) under lock and key for ten years. The Venlo resident is said to have approached several people to set fire to his ex-girlfriend.

Three years in prison has been demanded against intended executor Mariusz O. (36).

Bad divorce
Ruud has poorly processed the break with his ex-partner, in any case, is the firm conviction of the judiciary. He was convicted in 2018 for stalking the woman and in 2019 he was sentenced to five years in prison for two arson attacks and stalking again. The Venlo forty-something appealed against that sentence. The Court subsequently increased the prison sentence to eight years.

Same workshop
According to the judiciary, Ruud has approached several people from prison to set fire to his ex-girlfriend again. One of them would be the Polish former prisoner Mariusz. The two were once in the same prison. “But not in the same department,” says Mariusz’ lawyer Francoise Landerloo. “They only once worked in the same workshop for a month.”

No idea
Landerloo says her client knew nothing about the conflict between Ruud and his former lover. “That knowledge does not show anything at all,” says the lawyer. She therefore pleaded for acquittal for her client. In two weeks Mariusz and Ruud will know where they stand. Then the judge makes a decision.
