Erik ten Hag was pleased with the collaboration between debutant Antony and Marcus Rashford after Manchester United’s victory over Arsenal (3-1) on Sunday. Antony, who came over from Ajax, opened the score before half-time on a pass from Rashford. Rashford himself decided the game in the second half with Man United’s second and third goal.
“They both played great, there was a constant threat from them,” said Ten Hag, who won the last four league matches with Manchester United. “We have an incredibly strong vanguard, with creativity and speed. This was only their first time playing together and I loved seeing this performance.”
Ten Hag found the opening phase of his team impressive. “I think these were the best 10 minutes of the season. We also showed a good spirit again and showed that we can deal with setbacks,” said the former Ajax coach about the equalizer. “We have really improved in terms of mentality. We have the right characters within the team, it now comes down to even better cooperation. We don’t play together as long as the Arsenal players do. If we get better in possession later, Can we dictate one more game?”
