Temporary measure: The emergency department of our hospital is closing

Due to staff shortages and absenteeism, the LangeLand Hospital cannot do otherwise than temporarily close the emergency room (A&E).

From 2 August, the department will close three days a week. This will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The emergency room will open again on Friday 08:00. The adjusted opening hours apply until October 1, 2022.

New staff

Like several companies, the LangeLand Hospital will also have to look hard for new staff. Only with new powers, the emergency room can open again. “It was a decision that we had to think carefully about. But we really can’t get the occupation done anymore. We are well aware that it has consequences for many people,” said the hospital, during an interview with AD Zoetermeer.

Where should I go in case of emergency care

Later this week, the LangeLand Hospital will come up with an emergency plan. Then we know what to do if emergency help is needed and where we can go during the closure. We will keep you informed.
