Temperature shoots up halfway through this week: ‘Very bizarre!’

Temperatures will skyrocket in the middle of this week. The thermometer could reach 16 degrees on Thursday. “Weird, isn’t it!”

Floris Lafeber from Weerplaza has good news for people celebrating Carnival this Monday. “It remains dry in most places and there is regular room for the sun,” he said on Monday morning in the radio program WAKKER! on Omroep Brabant. “There may be a few showers in the afternoon, but they really shouldn’t have a name.”

Report grade 8
The temperature is 9 degrees. “The combination of that sun with not too much wind makes it great carnival weather today. It is really a very good day, this one gets a grade of 8.” Monday evening will be dry, with broad clear spells. “It’s cooling down quite a bit,” says Floris. “The temperature then rises slightly above freezing.”

Tuesday will be mainly dry, but there will be many cloud fields. “That’s one of the last dry days this week.”

According to the weatherman at Weerplaza, Wednesday will be downright wet. “Then a rain area will pass over and it will be 13 degrees.”

Warm but also rain
The temperature will rise further on Thursday and it could reach 15 or 16 degrees locally. “Very bizarre! In February a temperature of around 7 degrees is normal. So we get a more than double. But the weather is anything but spring-like. From time to time rain passes over.”

The temperature in the following days also remains downright mild for the time of year. It will be 11 or 12 degrees on Friday and 10 on Saturday. “The weather will also be changeable.”
