Telstar Women and VV Alkmaar both played against a title candidate tonight. No points were awarded in either case. Telstar lost with big numbers (4-0 against FC Twente), while the Alkmaarders PSV were able to offer quite a bit of resistance (2-0).
It was Fenna Kalma, who made it 1-0 in the ninth minute. A few minutes later, she had another chance, but this time it was not for her. Moments later, Caitlin Dijkstra seemed to double the score in the fifteenth minute, but this goal was disallowed for offside. Elena Dhont made it 2-0 two minutes later.
Kalma scored her second goal in the second half with a marker. Ella Peddemors took care of the final score in the last minute: 4-0. Telstar had still had chances before that, but Daphne van Domselaar was a spoilsport several times.
Telstar remains last in the women’s premier division due to the hard defeat. In two weeks (November 20) the North Holland derby will be against VV Alkmaar.

VV Alkmaar
After the previous confrontation against Ajax Women (7-1 loss), VV Alkmaar had another title candidate on the program. The Alkmaarders had enough opportunities, but PSV took the lead. Joëlle Smits was the goalscorer: 1-0. The home team did not give in and got a huge chance through Judith Roosjen. She headed from a free kick that hit the post.
The game was decided in the second half by De Smits. She was allowed to qualify for a penalty after a handball from Karlijn Woons. After this, the Eindhoven players simply finished the match. VV Alkmaar remains second to last in the women’s premier division due to the defeat. In two weeks (20 November) the North Holland derby will be against Telstar Women.
Ajax Women, the third club in the women’s Eredivisie, will play the Classic against Feyenoord next Sunday. The kick-off in Rotterdam is 12.15 pm.
