Telstar defender Yaël Liesdek is in trouble again. This time he has a shoulder injury and that is his fourth injury in a year and a half. “I am certainly not a man of glass and I try to get back as fit as possible”, 21-year-old Liesdek is combative.
At the end of October, the footballer had to leave the field injured. That happened in the game against FC Dordrecht (2-2). With this injury, he is now out for at least a few months. “My shoulder had dislocated. Football is a contact sport, so I have to watch out in duels. I have to act now so that I can prevent that,” says Liesdek about his shoulder that can shoot out of the socket.
Operation
Whether Liesdek needs surgery is not yet known. So for the Amsterdammer it is yet another setback. He is in his third season at Telstar, but has had several injuries in recent years.

The footballer indicates that it was mainly a mental blow that he was injured again. “You are standing next to the field again, watching how those boys are on the field,” says Liesdek.
Third season
The resident of Amsterdam is in his third season in Velsen-Zuid. In the summer of 2020 he started in Telstar’s Under 21 team. He soon managed to convince former trainer Andries Jonker. He also seemed to have conquered a basic place under current trainer Mike Snoei until his injury. “I have had many conversations. Especially with my family. That has ensured that I recovered after one week.”
For Telstar he has so far played 54 matches in which he scored twice.
